[edit 2: Well, I'm laughing a bit -- the little live page counter turns out to have been both moderately useless and self-defeating at the same time.  Neat!  It turns out that the existence of the page counter was in fact inflating the page counts themselves (the self-defeating part) while at the same time, not really showing much useful info since it was only showing Home page loads (the moderately useless part).  I decided to just pull the plug on it for now, but it's a fun idea.  I'll find a better way to do it and get something back up later.  Finally, you may want to know the point of it was to show that almost 2,223,000 pages have been viewed since early 2005.  That's a mighty-big number.  Later, Luap. ]

This is a bit of an experiment, but also something kind of fun(ny?)  Let's see if this works:

So... that's a running count of page views since January, 2005 -- about.  I'm not sure how accurate this will be, but this ought to be interesting to watch.  Also, check out that friggin' number!!!  Sheesh.  This might be broken or coded wrong, so we'll let 'er ride here for a bit and maybe I'll spiff this up and put it somewhere more prominent/permanent if I like how it rolls.  Cool beans, I think. :) 

[edit: Actually, unless I put this on all pages somewhere, it's only going to show the page views of the Home page, not all the pages of the site.  Oh well... for now, it's just a test, so I'll see how it plays out.  The site is much older than 2005 too, so this is only a glimpse of where we've been.  I thought it was interesting.  --Luap] 

I know most of you thing "big freakin' deal" when I say things like "New server!" but hey, it's important to me, so humor me, eh?  :P

 The move is apparently mostly complete, so you should start seeing this message on the home page when you're seeing the new server.  If you don't see messages that you posted before, or if you're seeing another message here like  "Server being moved" (or whatever it was), you're on the old server.

Sorry if your posts didn't get moved over, but I had to pick a cutoff time, so messages and scores (sorry!) after that time might be here and they might not be.  It's a fancy Intarweb issue that I'll explain if you want me to, but I won't bore those of you who couldn't give a rip.  It takes a few days for things to move... that's the easy version of the story.  Post a question in the forums if you want more info.  I'm happy to teach the willing learners. :)

Anyway, welcome to the new beastly server!  It's a power house ("She's a brick... house...") and will handle the increasing loads on all my sites a LOT better.  Thanks for your patience if you noticed downtime or missed messages.
